Lead Schools

Our Lead Schools play a vital role in championing high-quality music education across Greater Essex. Each Lead School has been appointed through an application process which our independent governance were the decision makers of. All Lead Schools are expected to work collaboratively with local schools, educators and leadership across the Greater Essex Music Hub to share best practice, inspire innovation and support outstanding musical opportunities for all children and young people. Below is a video capturing how one Lead School works in partnership to deliver music within their whole school setting, and the wider benefits this brings to the school.

We are very pleased to announce that we have appointed two new lead schools for 2026 – 2027, in addition to the current nine who will continue in their role. The two new schools are Lexden Springs and Pioneer. More information from these two new Lead Schools coming soon.
